With growth comes hiring and we are looking to hire a top-Superintendent to the team! *Superintendent* *MAJOR FUNCTION* The Superintendent has the lead authority at the project site.
It is his/her responsibility to manage each project assignment according to Odin's corporate philosophy of safe, quality production.
While he/she may delegate tasks to others, all day-to-day activities are his/her responsibility.
) *SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:* Generally, field operations will be coordinated with the Regional Operations Manager and all other activities are coordinated with the Project Manager.
Specific responsibilities are detailed below: * Embrace Odin’s Core Values in all aspects of the job * Hires and fires labor - Responsible for labor productivity and the installed cost of the work.
* Onsite coordination of subcontractors which includes monitoring their progress, productivity, quantities for unit price work, and protect against claims.
* Contract Administration - Since he/she is our onsite representative, he/she must have complete knowledge of the contract and all related documents.
If there is ever any doubt, he/she consults with the Project Manager.
* Completes all required paperwork on a timely basis - at least once per week - Daily Supervisors Report - Time sheets including cost codes - Incident reports - Owned Equipment - Rented Equipment - Incorporated Materials - Supplies & Miscellaneous - Extra Work Force Account (including authorized signature) - Rapid Letters - Weekly Job Cost/Income Summary - Field Cost Reports - Schedule - Safety Meeting - Other as required * Extra work and claim documentation * Maintain a written project diary which will contain along with other pertinent information, the nature and extent of delays, deviations from the approved plan, and any other job site conditions such as inclement weather, labor shortages, equipment breakdowns or later material deliveries that may serve as the basis for a change order or claim * Day-to-day purchasing activities in accordance with budget restraints and company signature authority.
* Be fully aware of the project budget and to work within that budget * Submit approved progress and invoice pay quantities to the Project Manager on a timely basis * Responsible for the maintenance of a safe and healthful work environment, OSHA compliance, and incident reports * Accountable for the following: - Compliance with medical surveillance (via use of Work-Care and training protocols) - Timely, complete audit responses - Overall compliance with procedures (i.
e.
, 29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926 equipment inspections, et.
al.
), as noted during audits - Pro-active safety procedures, i.
e.
, training, safety meeting content and documentation, etc.
- Timeliness and thoroughness of completing incident reports, particularly accident analysis and steps to prevent recurrence - Completion of 200 logs - Incident rates *SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:* * 4-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience * Minimum of eight years supervisory experience in similar facility construction technology, methods, equipment, tools and work procedures required * Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise large groups essential *PHYSICAL DEMANDS:* * Ability to communicate orally and in writing with vendors, management, and other coworkers, both individually and in front of a group * Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
* Regular use of the telephone and email for communication is essential * Sitting for extended periods of time is common * Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information, and to prepare or inspect documents * Good manual dexterity for the use of tools and machinery * Good reasoning ability is important, must be able to understand and utilize management reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business * This position is performed at a job-site.
Also includes travel to offices and projects in various locations around the country as needed.
The following physical activities are often, but not always, associated with site visits: - Must be able to stand or walk on a project site for extended durations - When on project sites or if performing some types of work or activities, must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to: earplugs, protective eyewear, gloves, hard hat, steel-toed work boots, and high visibility safety apparel.
*WORK ENVIRONMENT:* This job is primarily performed at a job-site with occasional office visits.
