This role is restricted to U.

citizens with the capability to obtain a security clearance.
The engineer will primarily be responsible for the structural design and analysis of new or upgraded turbomachinery hardware, focused on stress, vibration, and life analyses.
Specific responsibilities include: Leading a small team of structures engineers on design/analysis projects while also sharing the analytical workload Ensuring that structural analysis follows accepted methods and is properly checked and documented Organizing and participating in regular round-table meetings with team members, discipline experts, and the Chief Engineer’s office Communicating regularly with team leads, program managers, and customers to provide project technical and schedule status Supporting field or production issues, such as root cause investigations and disposition of manufacturing nonconformances Assisting in preparation of estimates and analysis plans for new tasks Providing guidance and mentoring to younger engineers Contributing to the development and documentation of internal methods and criteria Experience and Skills: BS/MS in Engineering plus a minimum of 12 to 15 years experience.
Strong working knowledge of fundamental mathematical methods, solid mechanics, and strength of materials.
A good understanding of structural analysis methods & criteria (related to stress, vibration, fatigue/fracture mechanics, etc.
) is also required.
Strong working knowledge of turbomachinery component structural behavior and failure modes.
Must have some experience in gas/steam turbines or turbopumps.
Good working knowledge of finite element software (e.
g.
, ABAQUS, ANSYS or NASTRAN) Must be able to interpret engineering drawings Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to create & deliver clear and concise technical presentations both internally and to customers.
