Position Overview:
The Controller position is a full-time, exempt position primarily responsible for managing all aspects of financial and operational reporting, providing timely and accurate financial statements to ownership.
This position requires a highly personable individual who can integrate with our current team and build off current processes and responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Timely preparation and development of monthly financial close, review, and reporting.
Recognize revenue and expenses appropriately according to GAAP throughout the course of the projects.
Manage project progress to plan, conduct cost variance analysis, develop cost containment, and risk mitigation actions.
Prepare and review companywide profitability and cost/benefit analysis.
Identify and research variances to forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement across all business channels monthly.
Order and distribute company credit cards, train employees on proper credit card procedures.
Lead the company’s budgeting/forecasting processes.
Maintain open and accurate communication with project managers, superintendents, and foremen.
Maintenance of general ledger
Reconcile bank statements.
Establish proper project financial routines, policies, and controls.
Other duties as required.

Skill in communicating effectively verbally and in writing with employees at all levels, in English and Spanish.
Ability to collaborate with other departments in the company to drive business results.

Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge and abilities listed qualifies.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
Five (5) years of progressive experience with construction finance background.
Direct hands-on experience in job costing and understanding of contract customer billing.
Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with QuickBooks required.
Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Fluent in English and Spanish.

Work Hours: The normal work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
This position is a hybrid office role, remote 4 days per week / office based 1 day a week.
