Position Description: Senior Accountant Reports to: Controller Overview This position exists in order to leverage a blend of exceptional analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, focusing on the in-depth analysis of financial reports and forecasts.
The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role in maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring compliance with established accounting standards, and contributing to the precision of financial statements produced.

Essential Functions Financial Analysis and Reporting Analyze financial information and summarize financial status Produce ad hoc financial statements, hypothetical data models, and related analyses Develop insightful reports based on financial and non-financial data to meet reporting requirements while adapting to organizational changes Contribute to the design of the future state of reporting by leveraging new reporting systems and software General Accounting and Reconciliation Verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling accounts payable and receivable Reconcile account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures Financial Process Improvement and Compliance Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Ensure compliance with US GAAP principles, current accounting regulations, and internal controls Improve and formalize processes for gathering source information used in the preparation of statements Budgeting and Forecasting Support month-end and year-end closing processes Supporting budgeting and forecasting Participate in financial standard setting and in the forecast process Liaise with business and senior leaders to improve financial procedures You’ll love it because… You have an opportunity to dive into the role of being RED RHINO’s Senior Accountant, much like a marine biologist setting out to explore the depths of a financial ocean blue.

Skills / Competencies / Experience Required Accounting Expertise: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards with 5+ years of experience in accounting roles.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Master's or relevant certifications (e.
g.
, CPA) are preferred.
Financial Analysis & Reporting: Proficiency in financial analysis, financial reporting, and a track record of producing accurate financial statements.
Advanced Data Analysis: Demonstrated expertise in data modeling, complex data analysis, and a history of providing insightful financial insights.
Reconciliation & Month-End Close: Proven ability to reconcile accounts, manage month-end and year-end closing procedures, and maintain general ledger accuracy.
Internal Controls & Compliance: Strong understanding of internal controls, compliance with financial regulations, and experience supporting budgeting and forecasting.
Strategic Financial Planning: Previous work history in financial standard setting and contributing to the forecasting process.
Process Improvement & Research: Experience in streamlining financial processes and conducting research on financial and accounting compliance matters.
Reporting System Proficiency: Familiarity with advanced reporting systems and software, including expertise in tools like Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
Team Collaboration & Communication: Effective communication and teamwork skills, including working closely with business leaders to enhance financial procedures.
Detail-Oriented & Organizational: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and adept time management abilities.
