*Summary: *The Controller plays a pivotal role in the organization, providing leadership in overseeing accounting activities.
Responsible for ensuring financial management and reporting, internal control implementation, and regulatory compliance.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* * Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department, encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, working capital management and capital contributions / distributions.
* Lead the monthly and year-end closing process, ensuring the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, financial reporting, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
* Manage and supervise all financial aspects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP, local, state, and federal government requirements, including SEC requirements.
* Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
* Collaborate with auditors, guiding audit processes, and proactively addressing findings to ensure and enhance financial transparency.
Prepare for and facilitate external annual audits and quarterly reviews.
* Prepares monthly and annual operating budget.
Monitor and manage financial statements including cash flows to compare budget to actual to ensure the Company is meeting operational needs and optimizing financial resources.
* Continuously seek opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the Accounting Department and financial processes.
* Stay updated on financial software and technology, leveraging tools for efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting processes.
* Assist in preparation of annual corporate tax returns and K-1s for investors.
* Prepare applications for annual insurance policies.
Receive and evaluates annual insurance policy quotes.
Maintains records for accurate financial reporting.
* Must abide to all HIPAA, Confidentiality and Privacy laws.
* Handles Finance and Accounting department concerns in a helpful and objective manner.
* Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
*Supervisory Responsibilities:* * Manage members of the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
* Oversee training of new staff and identifies training needs for existing employees.

* Safety and Security - Uses equipment and materials properly.

*Education and Experience: * * Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required.
* Seven years or more of related experience required.
* Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
*Language Skills:* * Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent organization and time management skills.
* Effective communication of complex financial information to diverse stakeholders.
*Software Skills: * QuickBooks, NetSuite and MS Office products.
*Other Skills and Abilities: * High accuracy and extreme confidentiality a *MUST*.
Detailed oriented and very organized.
*Physical Demands:* While performing the duties of this Job, the employee will have a combination of standing, sitting, bending and reaching.
May work at a computer monitors for prolonged periods.
The employee may lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
